AMERICANS INCREASINGLY GETTING PAID FOR NOT DOING WORK:

Growth in paid time off – including family leave, sick leave and vacation – is widening the gap between the number of hours for which workers get paid and the number of hours they are actually on the job. Employers have expanded paid benefits to retain and attract workers in a hot job market. Employees, meanwhile, are using the new benefits as they juggle work, family and health.


Rabbi Wolpe – “Harvard Has An Antisemitism Problem”:

Visiting scholar Rabbi David Wolpe, affiliated with Harvard Divinity School, has leveled serious allegations against Harvard University, asserting that it has an “antisemitism problem” in a recent video statement. This allegation came amid heightened tensions following recent terrorist attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians. After the attacks, many student organizations at Harvard issued a joint statement, placing the blame for the violence squarely on Israel, which drew criticism from various quarters.

IBM Hosts Internships That Bar Whites, Asians, And Men – With Exception For Men Who Identify As Women:

Technology company International Business Machines (IBM) sponsors at least two discriminatory paid internship opportunities, one that bars white and Asian applicants, and another that is only for women, with an exception for men who identify as women. The two paid internships are held in conjunction with the American Physical Society (APS), a nonprofit organization that says it is “working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy, and international activities.”

Wanabana Fruit Pouches Recalled As FDA Warns Of ‘Extremely High’ Lead Levels:

WanaBana voluntarily recalled all of its apple cinnamon fruit puree pouches after the Food and Drug Administration warned that they contain “extremely high concentrations of lead.” If any youngster has consumed the WanaBana puree product – which is especially popular among toddlers and young children who have trouble chewing and swallowing – the FDA advised parents to “contact their child’s healthcare provider about getting a blood test.”
